Accepting House Committee Definition:

A committee comprised of leading acceptance houses and the major merchant banks, it was set up originally to supervise accepting houses and dealings in fine bills generally. Membership is normally reserved for merchant banks and accepting houses whose bills are taken freely by the bank of England and are of the highest quality.
