T-account Definition:

The layout of accounts in the accounting book. Following is an example of a typical T-account:

The left hand side of he account is called the debit (Dr.) side. and the right hand side of the account is called the credit (Cr.) side. At the top, the title of the account is written. The shape of the account resembles a T therefore it is called T-account
